WOOLWICH suspect Michael Adebowale limped into court with a bandaged hand today charged with the murder of Lee Rigby.
Flanked by two police officers and amid high security, the 22-year-old appeared in front of a packed Westminster Magistrates' Court.
Adebowale is charged with murder and possession of a firearm with intent to cause violence.
He remained handcuffed and replied with a calm "yes" when asked to confirm his name, address, and date of birth.
Dressed in a grey, long-sleeved top, he sat as specialist prosecutor Bethan David told the court his alleged crime falls under terrorism law.
He will appear in court again on Monday for a bail hearing, and will face trial at the Old Bailey in due course.

Last week, Adebowale was shot by armed police after soldier Lee, 25, was hacked to death in Woolwich.
Adebowale, of Greenwich, South London, was discharged from hospital on Tuesday and remanded in custody.
Killer Michael Adebolajo, 28, remains under arrest in hospital.
The Crown Prosecution Service is advising police over eight other suspects arrested in connection with Drummer Lee's death.
A post mortem has confirmed he died of multiple stab wounds.
Chief Supt Alistair Sutherland said the police marksmen involved in shooting the suspected killers could be back on duty within weeks.

Police are also asking for information on the blue Vauxhall Tigra, reg N696 JWX, that hit Lee.
Sue Hemming, head of the CPS Special Crime and Counter-Terrorism Division, said: "Following the release of Michael Adebowale from hospital, we have authorised the police to charge him with murder.
"There is sufficient evidence to prosecute and it is in the public interest to do so."
